Loadout is a browser extension for organising links into pages and boards. It has no account system, no server, and no analytics. This policy explains exactly what it does with your data, which is very little.

What Loadout stores

Your pages, boards, links, notes and settings are saved using Chrome's local extension storage, on the device where you use Loadout. They are not transmitted to us or to anyone else, because there is nowhere for them to be transmitted to — we operate no servers.

What Loadout handles, and what we receive

Chrome asks extensions to describe every kind of data they handle, including data that never leaves your device. Loadout handles two kinds:

• Web history — the addresses and titles of pages you choose to save, and of bookmarks you choose to import. Only what you save. Loadout does not read your browsing history and has no access to it.
• Website content — when you add a link by hand and ask for its title, Loadout reads that one page's HTML to find its <title>, and nothing else.

All of it stays in Chrome's local extension storage, on your device. We receive none of it. There is no account, no server, no analytics and no crash reporting, so we have no way to see your pages, your links, or whether you use Loadout at all. We do not collect personal information, health, financial, authentication or location data, your communications, or anything about how you use the browser.

The one network request

When you add a link by hand, Loadout can fetch that page to read its title so the field fills itself in. That request goes to the site you are adding, and nowhere else.

• It only happens if you grant the optional site-access permission when Loadout asks.
• If the page is already open in one of your tabs, the title is read from that tab and no request is made.
• If you decline the permission, the feature still works — the URL is used as the title.

Nothing else in the extension contacts the network.

Permissions, and why

• storage — keeps your pages and links on this device.
• tabs — reads the URL and title of open tabs so you can save the current tab, capture a window, and reopen a saved page.
• bookmarks — read-only, and only when you choose to import. Loadout never changes or deletes your bookmarks.
• contextMenus — the right-click options for saving a page or link.
• activeTab and scripting — shows a brief confirmation on the page after you press a save shortcut. It reads nothing from the page.
• favicon — shows site icons using Chrome's local icon cache, which avoids contacting the site.
• Site access (optional) — only for reading a page title, as described above.

Your data is yours

Export writes a file straight to your computer. Uninstalling the extension removes everything Loadout stored. There is no copy anywhere else to delete.

Children

Loadout is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children. It collects no information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If a future version changes what Loadout does with your data — for example if optional syncing is ever added — this policy will be updated before that version is published, and the change will be described in the store listing.
